Avocados and ales, eh?
Well, you won’t see too many of those here anymore. When I started this blog, I was cooking with a lot of avocados and drinking a bit of beer. I still do both of those things, but I don’t write much about them here.
So who am I then?
My name is Lacey. I’m 31 years old and married to a wonderful fella named Ken and we have 2 vegan children. I’ve been vegetarian for about 12 years and vegan for 10. When we first met, Ken had been vegan for a year and vegetarian for about 9 years. After reading Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer, I made the switch to veganism. I’ve been eating since I was born and cooking since I was 14, but I started seriously cooking when I moved to Seattle at 18. Today we reside in the Midwest.
I don’t claim to be a food photographer and I also don’t claim that anything I make is healthy. Yes, it’s vegan. But that doesn’t make it any better for you than it’s omnivore counterpart.
I’m currently working part time at an award winning spa doing massage therapy and raising my children in the rest of my time.
My favorite type of beers include porters, stouts, dubbels, and quadrupels, but my tastes change depending on the meal.
My favorite color is turquoise, my favorite food is sushi (or pizza), and my favorite stone is tourmaline.
Any other questions?

Just came across your blog. LOVE your recipes! Happy to connect with a fellow vegan ❤
Loving all your recipes! Do you have an instagram? You should, and direct the pictures there to your blog! Your photos are beautiful and the recipes are awesome! What books do you suggest? Thanks!
I’m not on instagram! I should get one and increase my social media presence! I would recommend anything by Skye Michael Conroy and Isa Moscowitz. I also really like “how to cook everything vegetarian,” as it’s a really good resource.
What happened to your breast milk cheese recipe?! I can’t find it for the life of me. The page just says “Page not found” 😦
Hi Megan- I took it down due to some backlash from a specific Facebook group about it – as my blog contains a lot about my private life I wanted to remove it to stop the negative comments. If you’re feeling resourceful, it’s been translated on a few other blogs! Really sorry to do this, but when posting about sensitive subjects like this the worst people tend to appear 😦
What happened to the breastmilk cheese recipe?
Noooo!! I needed that breastmilk cheese recipe. I book marked and just got my carrageenan n the mail just moments agothat I had to order just for that. I spent the weekend pumping for it. Im sorry it went sour on fb, but some of us really were excited for it.
